Transparent Art Pricing Model for Transparent Art (Lucid Art)
The Transparent Art Pricing Model (TAPM), as well as the program and definition of Transparent Art [Lucid Art], constitute an original work protected under international copyright law, including the Berne Convention and applicable national copyright acts. Any copying, reproduction, distribution, or use of this work without the author’s permission is prohibited.
1. Scope of the Pricing Offer
The offer includes:
- All paintings that meet the criteria of Transparent Art.
- Direct authorial sales, without commission or markup, made directly to the final Recipient.
- The artist independently determines the number and quality of works they can create within one calendar year, guided by talent and a natural creative rhythm — never stress.
- For commissions covering at least one full year of work, the artist provides an additional 8% of the annual number of paintings as unsolicited, complimentary works.
2. Transparent Art Pricing Model
If the artist paints an average of 2 paintings per month, the price of a single artwork sold directly by the creator must fall within the following range:
- Minimum price: ½ of the minimum wage in the artist’s country of residence
- Maximum price: ½ of the average national salary in the artist’s country of residence
This establishes a fair, predictable, and ethically grounded pricing model.
A. Example Price Range (Poland, 2026)
- Minimum wage: 4806 PLN
- Average salary: 9002 PLN
This means that the transparent price range for one painting is: 2403 PLN – 4501 PLN
B. Rules Binding the Artist
An artist working within the framework of Transparent Art is obliged to adhere to the established price range. Therefore:
- They may not sell a painting that meets the criteria of Transparent Art for less than 2403 PLN,
- They may not exceed the price of 4501 PLN.
If these rules are violated, the work no longer meets the criteria of Transparent Art and cannot be classified within this artistic direction.
3. Personal Freedom
The artist retains full freedom to gift any painting — or any number of paintings — created within the Transparent Art framework.
4. Purpose and Ethical Foundation
The Transparent Price Model aims to:
- Minimize the risk of creating under economic pressure — if the authorial price for the artist’s average monthly painting output in direct sales (Artist → Buyer) does not fall below the minimum wage in the artist’s country of residence, and the work indeed finds a buyer, the artist is not deprived of means of living. This allows us to reasonably assume that the artist creates within the principles of Transparent Art.
- Limit unethical overpricing — if the authorial price for the average monthly painting output does not exceed the average national salary, the artist earns a solid, middle‑class income from their work, which also supports the assumption that the work is created within the Transparent Art framework.
- Support a healthy and honest art market — direct authorial pricing provides a minimum and maximum price threshold, allowing long‑term investment value to be assessed with lower risk than in cases where prices are detached from the economic realities of the artist’s country of residence.
- Build trust between the artist and the collector, patron, or investor — an artist working within the criteria of Transparent Art preserves the unique qualities of their work, which are more likely to arise from genuine talent rather than external pressure.
This model protects both the creator and the recipient — while strengthening the idea of Transparent Art as a practice rooted in truth, responsibility, and mutual respect.
